Help in the battle
against the COVID-19 pandemic
PARTNER REVIEW
«The use of computer vision has been able to make it easier for thousands of Novosibirsk residents to stay in self-isolation by reducing to a minimum the time it takes to go through verification. Another equally important factor is the level of personal data protection. Thanks to our cooperation with leading IT companies, we significantly improve the quality of digital services provided to the residents of the Novosibirsk region»
PROJECT IN NUMBERS
PARTNERSHIP OUTCOME
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, highly accurate facial recognition algorithms have been incorporated into the «112-Emergency Care» mobile app to match selfies of the patients at home with photos in the database. The total number of COVID-19 patients who sent selfies while on self-isolation in 2020−2021 exceeded 13,000.
«System-112», deployed in 2017, is a project to unite emergency services operating in the Novosibirsk region. As part of the system, a mobile application was developed for self-monitoring of the health of Novosibirsk residents. Before the introduction of facial recognition, the comparison of selfies with photos in the database was performed manually by operators.
The project to implement computer vision was conducted jointly with the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of the Novosibirsk region.
1. Reduce the workload of System-112 operators, who process control photos of self-isolated citizens.
2. Carry out a set of measures to implement facial recognition algorithms in the mobile application.
Thanks to the high degree of flexibility of NtechLab’s algorithms, a deep technological integration was accomplished in less than one month. The use of neural networks successfully accomplished the task, allowing human resources to be involved only in rare controversial cases.
